颜色，是木头自己长出来的。
We do not stain. We do not paint.
The color comes from within the wood itself.
欧橡富含单宁酸——遇上以醋酸调出的铁水，便起反应，由内而外显出深色。颜色不浮在表面，往里渗 0.5 至 1 毫米；漆的光与木的光，肉眼能辨。
药水来自丹麦，工序之间另设一道养生——化学反应带回来的水分，要再让木头自己平衡过去。这工艺在欧洲早已成熟多年；国内只在承接代工订单的地板厂里偶能见到。我们与欧洲工匠一道研讨切磋，又花了几年，把它一路推到家具上。
European oak carries enough tannin to react with vinegar-bound iron water — the timber draws color from within, half a millimetre to a millimetre deep. The light off this surface is not the light off varnish; the eye can tell.
The reagent comes from Denmark. Between the reaction and the wax, another resting period — the moisture brought back by the chemistry has to settle out on its own. The method has been mature in Europe for decades; in China it is found only inside the flooring contractors who once made for European clients. Through ongoing exchange with European woodworkers, we spent years of our own carrying it into furniture.

Joinery is not ornament. It is structure. A piece lasts three generations only because wood grips wood — precisely, for ever.

Section 03手工打磨Hand-Sanded
反复手工打磨，直到木面自己开始返光——不是漆的光，是木头的光。
Sanded by hand, pass after pass, until the surface begins to return a light of its own — not varnish, but timber.
木蜡油Hard Wax Oil
不封漆，木头能呼吸。最后一道渗入木质，色泽更润——一年之后，仍闻得到木头的气息。
No lacquer. A final pass of hard wax oil sinks into the wood and deepens its color from within — a year on, the timber still has its scent.

Boards split with the grain — or, when imported, sliced to four-millimetre veneer at a European mill before reaching the workshop.

薄片以焊膏胶压合——表层四毫米欧橡,中芯碳化实木,底面平衡层。工坊自研的多层板。
Veneers pressed with PVAc adhesive — a 4mm European oak face, a carbonized solid-wood core, a balancing layer beneath. The atelier's own composition.

04养生 Resting Resting养生
架空摆放,让水分自己平衡。南方含水率九到十二,过长江降到六到八——板子不赶,季节自有节奏。
Racked apart, the boards find their moisture on their own — nine to twelve percent in the south, six to eight beyond the Yangtze. The timber sets its own pace.
